Chicago
I visited Chicago, from 29-Mar to 06-Apr-2025, to visit family members. I flew from Frankfurt to Chicago directly.
Contrary to some German newspaper stories, entry into the US was uneventful and accomplished in three minutes.
I recommend to buy an eSIM for internet connectivity, as WiFi coverage is somewhat lacking. I bought an eSIM from airalo for 10 GB for 30 days for 25 EUR. Actually, I only used less than one GB.
Chicago is the third-most populous city in the US after New York City and Los Angeles.
