Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife

From 21-Mar-2026 to 28-Mar-2026 I stayed Puerto de la Cruz to attend an AI course. Puerto de la Cruz has ca. 31,000 inhabitants. That roughly the same as my hometown, Dietzenbach, which has ca. 35,000 inhabitants. When you walk through the city you will notice that most of the population is usually old.

I arrived at the southern airport, TFS, then took two busses from TITSA (Transportes interurbanos de Tenerife to arrive in Puerto de la Cruz. When I departed from Puerto de la Cruz I again took two busses back to the southern airport.

Some notes on TITSA:

  1. It is not guaranteed that they will give you a ride. If the bus is already full then the bus will not stop and pick you up.
  2. Sometimes the busses offer WiFi, some times not. In my case, in 1 out of 4, it had free WiFi.
  3. Although the busses seem to offer payment with credit card, it often doesn't work. Again in 1 out of 4 it worked, in the majority of cases it failed.

Regarding credit cards: While some supermarkets and fast food restaurants accept credit cards without problems, some supermarkets do not.

2. South airport.

3. Lufthansa / Discovery onboard flight tracking. Lufthansa / Discovery offers no internet access. They do offer WiFi, where you can watch various movies or follow the flight track.
